Nigerian Twins Break World Mathematics Record

Nigerian Twins Break World Mathematics Record

Nigerian Twins Break World Mathematics Record
Peter and Paula Imafidon, Nigerian eight-year-old twins from Waltham Forest in Northeast London, are a part of the highest-achieving clan in the history of Great Britain education.
The two youngest Nigerian siblings are about to make British history as the youngest students to ever enter high school.
They astounded veteran experts of academia when they became the youngest to ever pass the University of Cambridge’s advanced mathematics exam.
That’s on top of the fact they set world records when they passed the A/AS-level math papers.
Chris Imafidon, their father, said he’s not concerned about his youngest children’s ability to adapt to secondary school despite their tender age.
“We’re delighted with the progress they have made. Because they are twins they are always able to help and support each other”, he said.
To Peter and Paula’s parents, this is nothing new. Chris Imafidon said he and his wife have been through this before: They have other super-gifted, overachieving children”, he said.
Peter and Paula’s sister, Anne-Marie, now 20, holds the world record as the youngest girl to pass the A-level computing when she was just 13.
She is now studying at arguably the most renowned medical school in the United States, Johns Hopkins University, in Baltimore.
Another sister, Christina, 17, is the youngest student to ever get accepted and study at an undergraduate institution at any British university at 11.
And Samantha, now age 12, had passed two rigorous high school-level mathematics and statistics exams at the age of six, something that her twin siblings, Peter and Paula, also did.

Housewife Staged Her Own Kidnapping To Fleece N1,5 Million From Her Husband

Housewife Staged Her Own Kidnapping To Fleece N1,5 Million From Her Husband
Grace Obi, a housewife, has been arrested with one of her accomplices for faking kidnap to fleece money from her husband, when the money paid for "kidnappers" was found in a spare tyre of her car. Two other suspects have not been found yet.
The "kidnapping" happened last week, on March 7th, as the husband of Grace Obi came to the police department to report that his wife had been kidnapped. The Warri Area Commander, ACP Husseini Rabiu, suggested to Obi to play along with the kidnappers and pay the ransom of the requested N1,5 million.
The money was to be delivered by close confidants of Obi couple, Ogonna Onu and Gift Erah. They were supposed to make sure that Grace Obi was safe and sound. Both Onu and Erah were driving the wife's car, Toyota Highlander with Reg. No. SMK 370 AZ.
On the third day after the ransom was paid, March 9th, the victim was released home.
The fraud was discovered when ACP Rabiu ordered to search the victim's car and found N1,189,000 hid in a spare tyre jeep compartment. This money is thought to be a part of the ransom money paid to the kidnappers.
Police arrested Ogonna Onu immediately, but Erah and Fred Akpvita, both suspected to be connected to the 'kidnapping', have bolted away.
Reporters could not get any comments from Grace Obi and Ogonna Onu, the prime suspects.
According to the PPRO, Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Celestina Kalu, the results of preliminary investigation led to a conclusion that Grace Obi stage-managed the kidnapping and had other suspects help her to fleece the money from her husband. All the other suspects are yet to be determined.

13 Dead In Lagos Overloaded Boat Accident

13 Dead In Lagos Overloaded Boat Accident
An overloaded passenger boat capsized in Nigeria’s largest city of Lagos, killing 13 people, two of them children, the emergency services said on Wednesday.
“The accident occurred around 7.45pm yesterday in (the neighbourhood of) Festac Town when a wooden boat with some 20 passengers capsized,” Ibrahim Farinloye of the National Emergency Management Agency told AFP. “We have recovered 13 bodies, including two children, from the water while six others have been rescued,” he said, adding that the boat had a capacity of just 12 people. The boat was used to ferry people across a small river within the Festac Town neighbourhood. Overloading on such vessels is common, as ship operators often seek to maximise their profits while downplaying safety concerns. The Lagos government has aggressively tried to promote water travel around the city of 20 million people to reduce choking traffic, especially between the so-called mainland where most people live and the commercial and business hubs on the city’s islands. A few ferry services are considered safe with well-maintained boats, but most are ramshackle operations, often in decaying motor-powered canoes run by untrained pilots - See more at: http://www.vistaworldline.blogspot.com/2014/03/13/13-dead-lagos-overloaded-boat-accident/#sthash.2PN908Rd.dpuf
