Nigerian Twins Break World Mathematics Record

Nigerian Twins Break World Mathematics Record

Nigerian Twins Break World Mathematics Record
Peter and Paula Imafidon, Nigerian eight-year-old twins from Waltham Forest in Northeast London, are a part of the highest-achieving clan in the history of Great Britain education.
The two youngest Nigerian siblings are about to make British history as the youngest students to ever enter high school.
They astounded veteran experts of academia when they became the youngest to ever pass the University of Cambridge’s advanced mathematics exam.
That’s on top of the fact they set world records when they passed the A/AS-level math papers.
Chris Imafidon, their father, said he’s not concerned about his youngest children’s ability to adapt to secondary school despite their tender age.
“We’re delighted with the progress they have made. Because they are twins they are always able to help and support each other”, he said.
To Peter and Paula’s parents, this is nothing new. Chris Imafidon said he and his wife have been through this before: They have other super-gifted, overachieving children”, he said.
Peter and Paula’s sister, Anne-Marie, now 20, holds the world record as the youngest girl to pass the A-level computing when she was just 13.
She is now studying at arguably the most renowned medical school in the United States, Johns Hopkins University, in Baltimore.
Another sister, Christina, 17, is the youngest student to ever get accepted and study at an undergraduate institution at any British university at 11.
And Samantha, now age 12, had passed two rigorous high school-level mathematics and statistics exams at the age of six, something that her twin siblings, Peter and Paula, also did.

Housewife Staged Her Own Kidnapping To Fleece N1,5 Million From Her Husband

Housewife Staged Her Own Kidnapping To Fleece N1,5 Million From Her Husband
Grace Obi, a housewife, has been arrested with one of her accomplices for faking kidnap to fleece money from her husband, when the money paid for "kidnappers" was found in a spare tyre of her car. Two other suspects have not been found yet.
The "kidnapping" happened last week, on March 7th, as the husband of Grace Obi came to the police department to report that his wife had been kidnapped. The Warri Area Commander, ACP Husseini Rabiu, suggested to Obi to play along with the kidnappers and pay the ransom of the requested N1,5 million.
The money was to be delivered by close confidants of Obi couple, Ogonna Onu and Gift Erah. They were supposed to make sure that Grace Obi was safe and sound. Both Onu and Erah were driving the wife's car, Toyota Highlander with Reg. No. SMK 370 AZ.
On the third day after the ransom was paid, March 9th, the victim was released home.
The fraud was discovered when ACP Rabiu ordered to search the victim's car and found N1,189,000 hid in a spare tyre jeep compartment. This money is thought to be a part of the ransom money paid to the kidnappers.
Police arrested Ogonna Onu immediately, but Erah and Fred Akpvita, both suspected to be connected to the 'kidnapping', have bolted away.
Reporters could not get any comments from Grace Obi and Ogonna Onu, the prime suspects.
According to the PPRO, Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Celestina Kalu, the results of preliminary investigation led to a conclusion that Grace Obi stage-managed the kidnapping and had other suspects help her to fleece the money from her husband. All the other suspects are yet to be determined.

13 Dead In Lagos Overloaded Boat Accident

13 Dead In Lagos Overloaded Boat Accident
An overloaded passenger boat capsized in Nigeria’s largest city of Lagos, killing 13 people, two of them children, the emergency services said on Wednesday.
“The accident occurred around 7.45pm yesterday in (the neighbourhood of) Festac Town when a wooden boat with some 20 passengers capsized,” Ibrahim Farinloye of the National Emergency Management Agency told AFP. “We have recovered 13 bodies, including two children, from the water while six others have been rescued,” he said, adding that the boat had a capacity of just 12 people. The boat was used to ferry people across a small river within the Festac Town neighbourhood. Overloading on such vessels is common, as ship operators often seek to maximise their profits while downplaying safety concerns. The Lagos government has aggressively tried to promote water travel around the city of 20 million people to reduce choking traffic, especially between the so-called mainland where most people live and the commercial and business hubs on the city’s islands. A few ferry services are considered safe with well-maintained boats, but most are ramshackle operations, often in decaying motor-powered canoes run by untrained pilots - See more at: http://www.vistaworldline.blogspot.com/2014/03/13/13-dead-lagos-overloaded-boat-accident/#sthash.2PN908Rd.dpuf

Obesere Rape scandal

Olanike Olaiya, businesswoman of 29 years old, who was supposedly raped by a popular musician, Alhaji Abass Akande, popularly known as Obesere, has contacted the police and asked not to allow this case to be dismissed in order to keep her safe and stay alive.
She stressed that the fact that Obesere had inserted his ring in her private area, which led to bleeding and severe pain, could be connected with ritualistic activities. Olaiya added that she has not been impressed with how the police is handling the case. She even accused one of the Investigating Police Officers of the SCID, State Criminal Investigation Department, for frustrating further investigations in favour of Obesere. In her comments to Vanguard, the victim, Olaiya, claimed that the theory of them being lovers is a lie. Moreover, according to her, she was not aiming to use false rape charges to claim money from him. Olaiya said that she was offered the money as soon as the incident happened, and she refused to take it. According to Olaiya, they knew each other for two weeks on business matters and she was invited to his house by a mutual friend, to discuss business only. Olaiya was kept waiting in Obesere’s house for 5 hours until it became late in the evening. Obesere refused to let her go and convinced her to stay over in the house claiming that the neighborhood they were at was very dangerous for a girl to walk at night. Olaiya stayed in another room and that night, according to her, she was raped by him and he had inserted a ring in her private part. She said that she felt like it was her fault she got raped, because no girl should have agreed to spend the night at someone else’s house. According to Olaiya, she was bleeding and could not stop the pain. She told Obesere about this, but the singer didn’t take her seriously and told her to go to a private hospital in Ejigbo. She was not given a proper examination at that hospital and was told to go for a scan and that the hospital didn’t have the right equipment. After that, she went to the police and filed a report. According to Olaiya, she bled for two weeks and the pain didn’t stop even after that. She still claims to have problems with her reproductive organs. Olaiya filed a report as she wants Obesere to be prosecuted for this case. She also wants any ritual steps that he might have taken to be reversed. The response she got from the IPO was not satisfying as, according to her, they want to destroy the case and claim that Obesere is innocent. The medical report she got from the General Hospital was discarded and replaced it with a fake one, according to Olaiya. Olaiya is claiming that she is still not feeling well, and that all she wants is a fair investigation and justice. READ MORE: http://vistaworldline.blogspot.com

Sad news . Mother sels Three day old baby

According to a report by Punch, a nursing mother in Akwa Ibom named Imaobong Udoh (pictured above) has been arrested for allegedly selling her 3-day old baby girl for N260,000. Full report below
Also arrested along with Imaobong were four persons for allegedly participating in the theft of the baby.
/> They are the buyer, Mrs. Regina James; her husband, Mfon James; the traditional birth attendant who delivered the baby, Mrs. Comfort Henry; and Mr Emmanuel Okon, a homeopathic doctor, who arranged the sale.
Commissioner of Police, Mr. Umar Gwadabe, said in Uyo on Monday that the father of the baby had reported the theft to the police, leading to the arrest of the suspects.
Gwadabe said, “On March 3, 2014, a case of child stealing was reported by Mr. Eteobong James, of No. 33 Urua Ekpa Road, Itu Local Governmnet Area, to the police, where a three-day-old baby girl was sold for N260, 000.
“Based on the report, the suspects were arrested.
“Mr Emmanuel Etim Okon, was the one that arranged the infamous deal and personally conveyed the baby from the point of delivery at Nna-Enin in Uruan Local Government Area to the buyers at No. 37 Church Road, Uyo.”
The police boss explained that Regina allegedly paid N150,000 to the mother of the baby and N110,000 to Okon, the homeopathic doctor, for his services.
The commissioner stated that the accused would soon be arraigned in court and warned child thieves to steer clear of the state.
He explained that the state would not be conducive for their illicit trade.
Husband of the buyer, James, who spoke with PUNCH METRO said when his wife told him she was pregnant, he gave her money for ante-natal care, but was surprised to hear that she bought the baby.
He said, “l am a trader. My wife, Regina, told me she was pregnant and I gave her money for ante-natal. One day, she told me she was in labour and later informed me that she had been delivered of a baby girl.
“I did not know she bought the baby since she has given birth to four children, though three died.”
However, the homeopathic doctor said Regina brought the mother of the baby, Imaobong, to him so that he could take care of her during ante-natal.
He said Regina had explained to him that the father of the baby was not financially buoyant to take care of her.
He denied collecting N110,000 from Regina, stating that he only collected N30,000, which was the cost of delivery of Imaobong’s baby.
“When Regina brought Imaobong to me, she told me that the man responsible for the pregnancy was unable of take care of her.
“The N30,000 I collected from her was for the upkeep of Imaobong before and during delivery of the baby. I did not collect N110,000.”
